Russian violinist Olga Yakushina is an extremely versatile musician. Equally passionate about solo, orchestra and chamber music, Olga has won numerous prizes at international competitions. She has also performed as soloist, in various chamber music ensembles and as a member of orchestras in some of the best concert halls all over the world, such as Tchaikovsky Concert Hall in Moscow State Philharmonic, Saint-Petersburg House of Music, Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, Brucknerhaus in Linz, Großer Saal of Mozarteum, Wiener Saal and Großes Festspielhaus in Salzburg, Herkulessaal in Munich, Auditorio Nacional de la Musica in Madrid, Palau de la Musica in Barcelona, Musikverein in Vienna, Auditorio de Zaragoza, and Cadogan Hall in London.

 

Olga has also performed all over the world including Latin America, in countries such as Brazil, Peru, Argentina, Columbia, Chili; in Asian countries such as Vietnam and Laos; in Europe such as Poland, Lithuania, Slovakia, Norway, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Netherlands, France, Spain, Italy, England, and of course in many cities of Russia.

 

She received scholarship from the Vladimir Spivakov International Charity Foundation and has participated in several concerts organised by the foundation. Olga regularly performs as soloist with Saint-Petersburg House of Music and appears frequently as soloist with various other orchestras.

 

Olga has attended masterclasses with professors: P. Amoyal, B. Kushnir, B. Belkin, M. Piketty, and A. Margulis. Her repertoire consists of works ranging from the Baroque period to contemporary compositions.

 

In 2014 she won 2nd prize at the Leopold Auer International Violin competition in Saint-Petersburg and became prize winner at the “Premio Rodolfo Lipizer”- competition in Italy in 2015. In 2017 she won the Mozart Prize at the R. Ricci violin competition in Salzburg.

 

Olga was born in 1991 in Perm (Russia) and she began to learn violin at the age of three. At six years old, she played her first recital and at nine, she made her debut as soloist with orchestra. During her studies she regularly performed with various chamber orchestras as well. 

 

At the age of 13, she was accepted at the Central Music School attached to the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory, the best college of music in Russia for highly-gifted children and she entered the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory at the age of 17 in the class of Vladimir Ivanov - one of the best students of Y. Yankelevich. In 2014 Olga was accept to the University Mozarteum in Salzburg in the class of Lavard Skou-Larsen. She completed a Masters degree both at the Moscow State Conservatory in 20XX and at the University Mozarteum in 2018.

 

Olga currently lives and works in Madrid where she frequently gives recitals all around a Spain as concertmaster and soloist of the Delica Chamber Orchestra, Fundación Excelentia and the Orquesta Santa Cecilia.
